Coming to a 7-Eleven near you KUALA LUMPUR: Interactive media company United Global Technologies (UGT) is rolling out its new multi-content media platform to 7-Eleven convenience stores nationwide. The screening device will show video, text and flash animation simultaneously on a 32in wide LCD monitor. UGT marketing director Keith Wong said the advertisements are uploaded from the company's headquarters in Petaling Jaya to a datacentre in Cyberjaya before being broadcast to the 7-Eleven outlets via broadband. If there are technical difficulties, the advertisments can be uploaded directly into the system at every store. The screens have so far been placed in 30 outlets in the Klang Valley. Within the next three months, UGT plans to equip a total of 450 outlets nationwide. It has invested about RM7mil in the venture. |
